The apartment is on the second floor of this terraced Victorian property in Battersea. The idea was to split the space into a separate kitchen and diner with a large roof terrace, a good-sized living room with the exposed brickwork from the original chimney and a spacious double bedroom.
For the kitchen/ diner, we decided on an L shaped kitchen on one side using a modern handle-less range, and a dining space leading onto a newly built terrace on the other. The terrace space is 12m2 with views of London including the power station and even glimpses of Battersea park in between the traditional Victorian roofs.
The living room is a lovely size with a feature exposed brick chimney stack.
The apartment also has a large double bedroom with simple furnishings and clean finishes. Although the room faces the road, it is very quiet thanks to good double glazing and insulation.
In the bathroom, we decided on a light but warm tile, Modern finish with a bright and airy feel. The combination of Chrome finishes with wooden features softens this bathroom and creates a welcoming space.
